Are glass splashbacks heat resistant? Can I fit one behind a gas hob?

Yes. Every splashback we make is 6mm low-iron toughened safety glass, heated to over 600°C during manufacture so it stands up to the heat of everyday cooking. Standard toughened glass is safe behind induction, electric and ceramic hobs. For behind a gas hob we use specially processed toughened glass (and toughened mirror for mirrored finishes) for extra heat resistance. We always advise the correct specification for your hob.

How do I clean and maintain a glass splashback?

It’s one of the biggest advantages of glass over tiles. There’s no grout to discolour or trap grease, so you simply wipe the surface with a soft cloth and warm soapy water or a standard glass cleaner. The non-porous, seamless surface resists stains, mould and bacteria and keeps looking pristine for years.

How long does it take to get a glass splashback fitted?

Typically around 1–2 weeks from template to installation, depending on the finish and our current order book. The process is simple: a free quote, then a measure-and-template visit to your home, manufacture of your bespoke glass, and finally installation — which usually takes just a few hours with minimal disruption.

Can you cut out holes for sockets, switches and fittings?

Yes. Every splashback is made to measure, so we template precisely around sockets, switches, corners, extractor fittings and any other obstacles. This gives a perfect, seamless fit with no awkward gaps.

How much do glass splashbacks cost?

The price depends on the overall size, the finish you choose (coloured, mirrored, printed or antique), and the number of cut-outs needed. We provide free, no-obligation quotes — send us your rough measurements and we’ll give you a tailored price, with no pressure to proceed.

Are glass splashbacks better than tiles?

Many of our customers think so. A glass splashback gives a seamless, grout-free surface that’s hygienic, quick to wipe clean and never discolours over time, unlike tile grout. It also creates a sleek, contemporary finish and can be colour-matched or mirrored to suit any kitchen or bathroom.

How thick is the glass?

We use 6mm low-iron toughened glass as standard. It’s strong, safe and optically clear, which means your chosen colour appears true. Ordinary float glass has a slight green tint, whereas low-iron glass shows colours accurately.

What colours and finishes are available?

Over 20,000 colours, colour-matched to leading paint brands including Farrow & Ball, Dulux, Crown, Valspar and Little Greene. We also offer mirrored finishes in silver, bronze and grey, antique and vintage mirror effects, and printed glass that can feature patterns, designs or even your own photographs.

Do you measure and install, or supply only?

We provide a complete service. We visit your home to measure and template precisely, then our experienced fitters install the finished glass for you — usually within a few hours and with minimal disruption to your kitchen.

Can glass splashbacks be used in bathrooms and other rooms?

Yes. As well as kitchens, glass splashbacks and mirrors work beautifully in bathrooms, behind basins, on feature walls and in living spaces. The waterproof, non-porous surface is ideal anywhere you want a hygienic, stylish and easy-to-clean finish.

Is toughened glass safe, and what happens if it breaks?

Toughened safety glass is up to five times stronger than ordinary glass. In the rare event that it does break, it crumbles into small, blunt granules rather than sharp shards, which is far safer. All of our glass meets UK safety standards.
